Remote work is possible; base pay is $20.50 per hour, with increases for relevant experience and certifications.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years in medical billing, coding or healthcare finance.
• Knowledge of insurance claims processing, Medicare/Medicaid and private payers.
• Familiarity with EHR and billing software systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government programs.
• Review and verify patient billing information for accuracy and completeness.
• Follow up on denied or unpaid claims and work with insurers to resolve issues.
• Assist patients with billing inquiries.
• Maintain patient accounts, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, coding specialists, and insurers to streamline processes.
• Stay current with insurance regulations, coding changes and billing best practices.
