Job summary

Mercy Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist for a remote role based within 2 hours of Shepherdsville, Kentucky. You will ensure the accuracy of medical coding, posting payments, and balancing client accounts while treating patients and staff with respect.

Responsibilities include daily patient and insurer interactions, posting payments, handling denials and appeals, and coding during peak seasons. Work hours are 8 hours per day, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Daily interaction over the phone with patients/customers to answer questions or receive payments.
• Daily posting of insurance payments and balancing deposits.
• Assisting team with billing and insurance questions.
• Investigating and resolving denials and appealing the denials
• Phone interactions with insurance companies to resolve payment issues.
• Coding during peak seasons.
