Job summary

Fair Haven Community Health Care is seeking a Medical Billing Coder to maintain our reimbursement program and ensure compliant billing practices. The role involves handling patient and third-party billing, posting encounters, and addressing denials across all payers.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this position. Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, CPC AAPC certification, and knowledge of ICD/CPT codes; bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required with medical billing experience.
• CPC AAPC credential required; knowledge of third-party billing rules and CPT/ICD codes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work as part of a team.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred; FQHC/EPIC experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on A/R across all payers, self-pay, and denials resolutions.
• Prepare and submit clean claims to insurers electronically or by paper.
• Process and post patient and insurance payments; handle patient inquiries.
• Provide coding support by reviewing clinical documentation as needed.
