Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design SME to act as the technical authority for metal framing, mechanical systems, and pumping components. The role bridges engineering, manufacturing, and field execution to ensure designs are sound, manufacturable, and meet codes.

You will lead design optimization in SolidWorks, validate frames for loads, and mentor staff while traveling globally up to 50%. Remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field with hands-on industry experience.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and analysis.
• Willingness to remote work with 50% travel globally; no sponsorship.
• Open to working across engineering, manufacturing, and field execution.

Responsibilities

• Create, validate, and optimize metal framing concepts and shop drawings in SolidWorks.
• Ensure designs meet fabrication limits, optimize material usage, and reduce scrap.
• Verify compliance with codes and standards; assess failures and implement corrective actions.
• Serve as technical liaison between customer, manufacturing, and supply partners.
• Mentor engineers, technicians, and production staff on best practices.
