Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to develop and maintain specifications, drawings, and documentation for reactor internal components. You will evaluate supplier proposals, perform design and finite element analyses, and collaborate with sourcing teams to ensure components meet manufacturing requirements.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, 5+ years of fabrication/manufacturing experience with welding, plus advanced CAD/FEA skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related technical field and at least five years of engineering experience involving fabrication and manufacturing, particularly welding.
• Experience with 3D CAD, GD&T, and FEA; familiarity with welding documentation and ASME/AWS standards.
• Nuclear industry experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain specifications, concepts, drawings, and engineering documentation for reactor internal components, focusing on supplier support and fabrication-related changes.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and change requests, perform design and FEA analyses, and collaborate with sourcing teams, fabricators, and other stakeholders to ensure components meet technical and manufacturing requirements.
