Job summary

Nisga'a CIOPS seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to provide HVAC engineering support for DOJ/BOP facilities. The role involves technical analyses, reviews of mechanical deliverables, and advising on mechanical approaches to advance government decisions.

The position is primarily remote, with occasional travel to DOJ/BOP sites. Requires a PE license or equivalent experience, and at least seven years in mechanical/HVAC projects, with strong documentation and coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 7+ years of progressive mechanical/HVAC engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain DOJ/BOP suitability and facility access.
• Primarily remote work with occasional travel to DOJ/BOP sites or meetings.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical/HVAC design documents, calculations, and submittals for completeness and compliance.
• Support facility condition assessments by evaluating mechanical systems and drafting actions.
• Perform analyses related to HVAC performance, energy efficiency and indoor air quality; document findings.
• Develop equipment schedules, sequences of operations, and engineering options analyses.
• Draft inputs for Statements of Work, performance requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate interfaces with architectural and other disciplines for integration.
• Support commissioning and closeout documentation reviews and deficiency tracking.
• Prepare briefings and decision-support summaries for Government stakeholders.
