Job summary

Magnus Filmworks LLC seeks a Mechanical Designer to develop detailed mechanical designs and drawings for entertainment-focused structures, mechanisms, and systems. You will create and revise CAD models, perform basic calculations, and collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and production teams to ensure safety and performance.

The role supports R&D activities, evaluates materials, and iterates designs based on testing feedback.

Qualifications

• Strong technical drawing and drafting skills.
• Proficiency in machine design and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with CAD tools for 3D modeling and 2D detailing.
• Background in R&D, including prototyping, testing, and iterative design.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate design intent clearly.
• Safety-conscious and committed to standards and quality in design and fabrication.
• Experience in entertainment, live events, special effects, or themed environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise CAD models and technical drawings for entertainment-focused structures, mechanisms, and systems.
• Perform basic mechanical calculations and ensure designs meet performance, safety, and budget requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and production teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support R&D activities, evaluate materials and components, and iterate designs based on testing feedback.
• Prepare documentation for fabrication and assembly; troubleshoot design issues during build and installation; maintain design standards across projects.
