Job summary

Boston Government Services, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support DOE projects at Hanford, WA and Portsmouth, KY with a fully remote arrangement.

The role involves design development, analyses, reviews, and field verification for vessels, piping, and mechanical systems, coordinating with civil, structural, electrical, HVAC, and safety teams. Requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years in regulated environments, US citizenship, and DOE clearance readiness.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Experience in highly regulated facilities is preferred.
• Ability to prepare clear technical documentation and work with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, review, and document mechanical designs for new facilities and modifications.
• Prepare design criteria, specs, datasheets, drawings, and technical reports.
• Evaluate existing equipment through records, field walkdowns, and measurements to support design development.
• Provide mechanical engineering support for D&D activities including isolation and disconnection planning.
• Coordinate interfaces with civil, structural, electrical, HVAC, and safety teams.
• Review vendor documentation for compliance and support procurement through commissioning.
