Job summary

AfterQuery is a research lab exploring AI boundaries through datasets and experimentation. This remote, project-based role invites mechanical engineers with 2–4 years of hands-on CAD and mechanical design experience to contribute to tasks spanning design, analysis, documentation, and product development support.

Work is asynchronous for 2–3 weeks with an expected commitment of 10–20 hours per week. Compensation is competitive, with project-based pay up to $100/hour and exposure to real-world

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional mechanical engineering experience in CAD and design.
• Ability to produce detailed mechanical designs and drawings to standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Create, review, and iterate on CAD models for components, assemblies, and systems
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation
• Perform engineering analysis including stress, tolerance, and DFM
• Support product development from concept to production-ready design
• Document design decisions and methodologies clearly
