Job summary

Delong Mountain Logistics is seeking a Mechanic Assistant to provide general labor support to the maintenance department at the Red Dog Mine site in Alaska. The role includes vehicle washing, parts receiving, assisting mechanics, and light paperwork in a remote, on-site setting.

The position features a rotating schedule with 2 weeks on-site and 2 weeks at home, overtime potential, on-site lodging and meals, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, retirement, and tuition

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• MSHA certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean company vehicles, tractors and trailers and other equipment.
• Assist in receiving, inventorying and stocking parts.
• Assist mechanics as needed.
• Assist with paperwork and creating repair records.
• Operate company skid steer/pickups; training provided.
• Maintain housekeeping in the shop and around shop areas.
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Adhere to the Company’s safety policies.
