Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the enterprise MBSE ecosystem and redefine the engineering data architecture across requirements, models, and validation. This remote/hybrid role focuses on a model-driven digital thread and scalable MBSE capabilities across programs.

The position requires 8+ years in systems engineering with MBSE, SysML, and enterprise toolchains, plus experience in automotive cyber-physical development and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, IT, or related field.
• 8+ years of systems engineering and MBSE experience.
• Experience with complex cyber-physical product development in automotive.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise MBSE ecosystem architecture, data ownership, and lifecycle responsibilities.
• Define the target operating model across people, process, data, and governance.
• Architect MBSE integration across requirements, PLM/ALM, simulation, safety, and test environments.
• Lead tool evaluations for interoperability, traceability, and data portability.
• Define migration and coexistence strategies for legacy tools while maintaining continuity.
• Drive KPI-based governance for adoption, traceability, and engineering efficiency.
