Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton seeks a Materials Engineer to research, develop, and certify materials solutions that enhance ground vehicle survivability, mobility, lethality, and sustainment.

You will evaluate properties, relate microstructures to performance, and apply ICME and AI models to accelerate alloy discovery, advanced coatings, and armor systems while leading NDE and failure analysis activities. Travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in materials selection, design, fabrication, and failure analysis.
  • 3+ years supervising materials engineering and scientific efforts.
  • Experience with ICME and finite element analysis modeling tools.
  • Experience with additive manufacturing and corrosion prevention and control.

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, characterize, and certify materials solutions for ground vehicle survivability and protection.
  • Relate materials' compositions and microstructures to performance and provide recommendations on material selection.
  • Lead failure analysis investigations and determine root causes with design recommendations.
  • Develop and apply Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) methodologies and standardize material specifications.
