Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Materials Science Engineer to join a team developing next-generation materials for defense clients. You will help scale up advanced materials, perform testing, and advise leadership on market opportunities, while coordinating with management and customers to ensure project success.

The role requires a strong background in materials science/engineering and the ability to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

Experience with materials science engineering or materials chemistry.
Experience with materials testing, including mechanical, thermal, and chemical compatibility.
Knowledge of materials production, synthesis, characterization, and evaluation.
Ability to provide solutions for multiple clients and stakeholders simultaneously.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields with 2+ years experience or Master’s with 1+ years experience in materials engineering.

Responsibilities

Develop, integrate, and test solutions to create emerging technologies for defense clients.
Develop, characterize, and support the scale-up of advanced materials and testing for characterization.
Advise leadership on emerging technologies and market targets of opportunity for marketing and implementation.
Interact with internal and external management and senior-level customer representatives concerning projects and scheduling.
Maintain responsibility for evaluating technical specifications and the impact of materials processing on the environment.
