Job summary

Modern Recovery Services in the United States is seeking a Primary Therapist to support clients in recovery from substance use and co‑occurring disorders through individual sessions and teletherapy.

This full‑time role collaborates with the Clinical Director and Group Facilitator to meet clients’ needs per their treatment plan, with remote work options available and a requirement for a Master’s in Psychology, age 21+, and fingerprint clearance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university.
• Must be 21 years of age (licensing requirement).
• Must be able to provide Level 1 fingerprint clearance card.
• Ability to work with both adolescent and adult populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery education to clients for every phase of the recovery journey from pre‑recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance.
• Assist recovering persons to identify their personal interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses regarding recovery.
• Assist/coach recovering persons develop their own plan for advancing their recovery.
• Facilitate the transition from professional services to community‑based services.
• Promote self‑advocacy by assisting recovering persons to have their voices fully heard; their needs, goals and objectives established as the focal point of rehabilitation and clinical services.
• Actively identify and support linkages to community resources that support the recovering person’s goals and interests.
• Provide hope and encouragement for opportunities at varying levels of involvement in community‑based activities.
• Develop relationships with community groups/agencies in partnership with others in the agency.
• Identify barriers to full participation in community resources and develop strategies to overcome those barriers.
• Ability to provide services via video conferencing/teletherapy when determined appropriate for clients and the organization.
