Job summary

American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) is seeking a Senior Consultant II to provide expert maritime risk, safety, and regulatory guidance. You will lead consulting workstreams, interact with shipowners and government stakeholders, and drive project delivery while managing budgets and timelines.

Must have 8+ years of experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Professional certification is preferred. Travel up to 50% is expected as part of client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on project tasks to ensure quality services are delivered on schedule and within budget.
• Lead consulting tasks and workstreams for maritime clients involving risk management, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical advice to shipowners, operators, ports, offshore organizations, and government stakeholders.
• Manage day-to-day project activities to support quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
• Conduct and lead risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety management system evaluations.
• Develop practical recommendations and risk mitigation strategies.
• Lead or support audits, inspections, and corrective action planning.
• Build and maintain effective client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Prepare and present technical reports and briefings to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and assist with project planning and research.
