Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor SAR responses to minimize loss of life and property at sea.
• Develop search action plans and coordinate ongoing operations within the Area of Responsibility.
• Provide command and control over Coast Guard assets in maritime law enforcement operations within the Sector AOR.
• Maintain command and control of response operations for oil discharges and hazardous substances.
• Analyze nautical data such as currents, tides, and weather; disseminate information.
• Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies on SAR, LE, PWCS, MER, and other missions.
