Job summary

Lancesoft seeks a remote Mainframe performance and capacity management engineer for a 12-month contract. You will monitor real-time z/OS performance, detect anomalies, and prevent incidents to support mission-critical workloads, applying capacity planning and data analysis to drive efficiency.

Collaborating with infrastructure, DevOps, operations, and application teams, you will optimize WLM configurations, model workload demand, and surface insights for engineering and business decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, mathematics, finance or related field.
10+ years of mainframe systems experience with z/OS and Parallel Sysplex.
Proficiency in performance monitoring, observability, and capacity management.

Responsibilities

Monitor real-time z/OS health and performance across CPU/memory/DASD/WLM workloads.
Analyze performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and anomalies.
Detect and resolve resource issues and degradation risks in production systems.
Collaborate with incident response teams to resolve performance issues quickly.
Model workload demand and guide capacity planning and tuning strategies.
