Job summary

WorldWide Electric Corporation seeks a Low Voltage Motor Application Engineer to support customer-focused technical solutions and product development. Focus on selecting NEMA low voltage motors and applying standard design practices across diverse industries.

Role requires collaboration with sales, engineering, and manufacturing, frequent field travel, and engagement with standards bodies to advance motor applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in low voltage motor application engineering or technical sales support.
  • Experience with manufacturers or distributors (WEG, ABB, TECO, Nidec, Toshiba, Hyundai) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Size and select low voltage AC motors based on load and application conditions.
  • Analyze torque-speed characteristics, starting requirements, thermal limits, and service factors.
  • Apply NEMA MG‑1 and IEC standards to ensure proper motor selection and compliance.
  • Provide guidance on VFD applications, insulation systems, and speed ranges.
  • Serve as technical liaison for OEMs, distributors, and end users; review RFQs and datasheets.
  • Support sales with technical proposals, submittals, and product recommendations.
  • Participate in customer calls and meetings to resolve application challenges.
