Qualifications

• Current DESE License for School Counseling- Grades 5-12
• Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft OS and Microsoft Office)
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Student-focused approach
• High degree of flexibility
• Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment
• Willingness/ability to travel on occasion for student outreach and state testing events
• Ability to work remotely

Responsibilities

• Communicate regularly with students on their caseload surrounding issues of academic success, physical/social-emotional health, goal setting, post graduate planning, student safety/welfare and skill development
• Collaborate with the 6-8 counseling department in developing programming and activities
• Work with teachers to ensure students progress and that questions are answered
• Support students in cases of child welfare/mental health concerns
• Assist students in applications to non-MassCA school settings
• Ensure IEP and 504 services are provided
• Develop virtual methods of creating and maintaining a school community
• Other duties as assigned
