Job summary

Katmai Wilderness Lodge is seeking a capable Facilities & Operations Coordinator for the 2027 season. This live-in role combines guest-facing duties, property maintenance, and logistics to keep the lodge running smoothly in a remote Alaska setting.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of areas without constant prompting. Flexible hours and overtime may be required to support lodge operations.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to live and work in a remote, communal environment for the season.
  • Five (5) years of lodge or resort operations, facilities, maintenance, or related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain readiness, cleanliness, and presentation of lodge facilities and guest areas.
  • Assist with general facility maintenance, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance.
  • Organize storage, supplies, equipment, and back-stock inventory.
  • Support guest changeovers and ensure lodge is prepared for arrivals.
  • Maintain guest equipment program: organization, cleaning, inspection, sizing, readiness.
  • Support aircraft arrival/departure and backhaul operations.
  • Monitor outdoor areas, grounds, and guest-facing spaces.
  • Identify maintenance issues early and report them promptly.
  • Work with Lodge Manager to communicate needs and concerns.
