Village Media Ltd. is seeking five editors to lead editorial strategies across Wisconsin communities, including Manitowoc, Appleton, Fond du Lac, Kaukauna, and Sheboygan.

As Editor, you drive coverage, supervise reporters, and ensure our digital town square remains the most trusted local information source. You will guide breaking news, feature reporting, and community-focused stories, while mentoring staff and upholding rigorous, nonpartisan journalism standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in newsroom leadership with a nose for news and the judgment to handle sensitive local issues with fairness and impartiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide editorial direction to your reporter(s) and ensure a dynamic mix of breaking news, deep-dive features and high-impact reporting that reflects the cultural and economic life of the community.
• Serve as the guardian of the digital town square, upholding the highest standards of factual accuracy, verification, and nonpartisan reporting.
• Understand readers' interests and shape coverage strategy using digital metrics and community feedback.
• Highlight CARES initiatives andCommunity Conversations in partnership with the Community Coordinator.
