SouthState Bank, N.A. is offering a 10-week Loan Closing Internship designed for undergraduate students to gain hands-on experience in commercial loan closing, documentation, regulatory compliance, and career opportunities within the Loan Closing Department.

Interns will train with experienced professionals, cover the full closing lifecycle from intake to funding support, and participate in structured training, mentorship, and projects focusing on workflow efficiency, reporting, and automation

Qualifications

GPA 3.4 preferred.
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree; rising senior, graduating 2028.
Strong desire to learn commercial loan closing operations.

Responsibilities

Participate in internship activities, workshops, shadowing, and special projects.
Assist with loan request intake, document organization, workflow tracking, and reporting.
Review closing packages under supervision for completeness and accuracy.
Gain exposure to borrower structures, collateral, flood requirements, and approvals.
Observe preparation and review of loan documents, closing instructions, and settlement info.
Collaborate with loan closing teams and cross-functional partners.
Support quality control, process improvement, and automation initiatives.
Meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced remote environment.
Present a final project with learnings and recommendations.
