Job summary

Chemtrade is seeking a Load Planning Specialist to support the Logistics Operations team from a Remote-Based West Coast location. You will coordinate the movement of finished goods from plants to customers and optimize loads between private fleets and common carriers.

The role requires collaboration with plant operations, customer service and Supply Chain to improve carrier performance and ensure on-time deliveries. A minimum of 2 years in logistics and familiarity with DOT rules is expected.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Transportation, Business or equivalent related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with good working knowledge of chemical delivery, dispatching and logistics.
  • Experience with safety programs in an industrial facility preferred.
  • Experience with a TMS (Transportation Management System) preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Dispatch regional private fleet drivers and balance loads at the site level.
  • Dispatch common carrier deliveries and balance loads at the site level.
  • Optimize loads between private fleet and common carrier at all responsible plants.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with common carriers at the plant/dispatch level.
  • Support Road Logistics Managers in monitoring and improving common carrier performance.
  • Work with plant managers to ensure production capacity can meet load requirements – plan accordingly.
