Job summary

NAMIC is seeking a remote Litigation Examiner in its claims department to manage an inventory of liability and E&O claims, oversee defense counsel, and determine resolutions. The role requires experience in litigation management and insurance claims, with travel to out-of-state and Canada as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires 3–5 years in personal or commercial insurance claim handling.
• Experience in litigation management or professional liability claims is preferred.
• Ability to travel out of state regularly and to Canada is expected.
• Juris Doctor degree preferred; state licenses as available are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Handle an inventory of Directors & Officers, Fiduciary Liability, E&O, EPLI claims.
• Review claims for coverage and liability; determine resolution strategy.
• Retain and manage defense and coverage counsel; oversee budgets and experts.
• Maintain claim reserves; manage diaries and service bill payments.
• Prepare loss prevention articles and present seminars as needed.
• Collaborate with underwriters on risk selection and policy revisions.
• Provide updates to senior management on large loss reserves and indemnity plans.
