Confidential Employer in the New York City area seeks a skilled litigation attorney for a remote-friendly role handling civil defense matters, discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation. You will own cases with minimal bureaucracy and travel into the NYC metro area as needed.

With 3+ years of attorney experience and active NY and NJ bar admissions, you will draft pleadings, manage deadlines, and work closely with clients and experts.

Qualifications

• Ability to independently manage litigation files and deadlines.
• Strong legal research, writing, oral advocacy, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage civil litigation from initial evaluation through resolution or trial.
• Develop case strategy, analyze liability and damages, and provide practical recommendations to clients.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, reports, and other substantive legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and negotiations.
• Work directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, witnesses, and insurance professionals.
• Handle defense matters involving general liability, personal injury, catastrophic injury, transportation, premises liability, product liability, and related disputes.
• Prepare cases thoroughly for trial while identifying opportunities for efficient and favorable resolution.
• Travel into the NYC metropolitan area as necessary for litigation activities.

Location:

Candidates must have 3+ years of attorney experience and active bar admission in both New York and New Jersey. We are seeking a strong litigator who can independently handle cases and is able to commute into the New York City area when matters require an in-person presence.
