Job summary

Warner Norcross + Judd LLP is seeking a Litigation Associate to join our Detroit and Grand Rapids offices. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of hands-on litigation experience, including drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, managing discovery, and participating in depositions and court proceedings.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys on complex litigation matters while developing courtroom and client advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on litigation experience in a law firm or similar setting.
• J.D. from an accredited law school; admitted or eligible to be licensed in Michigan.
• Strong legal writing, research, oral advocacy, and courtroom skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and client needs.

Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of litigation from initiation through appeal.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis.
• Manage discovery including document review and depositions.
• Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and trial prep.
