Job summary

Warner Norcross + Judd LLP in Detroit and Grand Rapids seeks a Litigation Associate with 3–5 years of hands-on experience, including drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, managing discovery, and participating in depositions and court proceedings.

You will work closely with senior attorneys on complex matters, develop courtroom and client advocacy skills, and contribute to all phases of litigation from initiation through appeal.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and Michigan bar admission or eligibility.
• 3–5 years of hands-on litigation experience in a law firm or similar setting.
• Strong research, writing, and advocacy skills required.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Familiarity with e-discovery and case management software.

Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of litigation, from case initiation through trial and appeal.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic case analysis.
• Manage discovery, including document review, depositions, and expert witness coordination.
• Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategy and trial preparation.
