Job summary

Corebridge Financial is seeking a Director, Life Underwriting to lead risk assessment for complex life applications and support sales with a customer-centric approach.

The role requires expert medical and financial risk evaluation, collaboration with case managers and wholesalers, and delivering accurate processing. Strong communication and accountability are essential in serving upscale markets.

Qualifications

• Experience with brokerage distribution marketplace.
• 5+ years of life underwriting experience handling larger face amount cases.
• Approval authority up to $7,000,000.
• FLMI, FALU and/or CLU designations preferred or progress toward these designations.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex formal applications and informal quotes within approval authority guidelines.
• Analyze information to reach comprehensive medical and financial assessments.
• Manage change, defuse conflict and negotiate outcomes.
• Take a cross-functional view of workflows and their impact.
• Stay organized to manage a large caseload.
• Demonstrate superior underwriting knowledge and skills.
• Provide training on underwriting topics to internal/external users.
• Interact effectively with a sophisticated field force dealing with upscale markets.
