Job summary

Orrick is seeking a Legal Solutions Architect to design, develop, and deploy custom software solutions that support legal workflows across the firm. This role combines pro-code development with low-code capabilities to accelerate legal projects.

You will collaborate with attorneys, IT, Innovation, and external vendors to deliver production-ready solutions, secure data handling, and scalable services across Microsoft and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in software development or related technical role.
• Strong programming foundation in C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, Copilot Studio, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, authentication protocols, and cross-platform integrations.
• Strong debugging, documentation, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine when a problem should be solved with custom software, low-code, AI agents, or hybrid approaches.
• Build and deploy MCP servers exposing firm tools to internal AI agents.
• Design, develop, and deploy custom software for legal workflows.
• Architect and build APIs, integrations, and middleware across firm systems and cloud platforms.
• Develop secure, scalable backend services with modern languages and cloud-native practices.
• Design and implement automation using pro-code and low-code technologies.
• Maintain REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth2, JSON schemas, and cross-platform authentication.
• Create reusable software components and frameworks to accelerate future work.
• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions aligned with priorities.
• Design deployment strategies and environment management from development to production.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and architectural diagrams.
• Establish testing, monitoring, debugging, and support practices for custom solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and AI platforms for business applications.
• Refactor local automation scripts into secure cloud endpoints for agents and low-code tools.
