Job summary

Jamison Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified Legal Proofreader to support the Transcriptionist/Court Reporter Department. The role requires proven legal proofreading experience and the ability to work remotely within the United States.

Expect 4–8 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend or holiday work as needed. Must pass a federal background check and reside in the U.S. Hourly rate starts at $18.50 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a legal proofreader is required.
• Understanding of legal terminology and punctuation rules.
• Experience listening to audio and comparing to transcripts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review raw transcripts for accuracy, spelling, and punctuation per client guidelines.
• Ensure consistency across all clients and meet due dates.
• Provide feedback to typists and document adherence.
• Assist department manager with questions regarding typists’ status.
• Respond to inquiries about current guidelines and standards.
