Job summary

A well known law firm is seeking an experienced Electronic Billing Specialist to handle the full billing process for multiple attorneys across several offices. Remote opportunity for candidates in the Washington, DC; New York City; Philadelphia metro areas.

You will manage e-billing tasks using Elite/Aderant/3E or similar systems, review time entries, prepare invoices, and ensure client-specific guidelines are followed. Prior legal billing experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with e-billing/legal billing software required.
• Current/prior legal billing experience is 100% required.
• Strong understanding of legal billing practices and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update e-billing software systems (e.g., Elite, Aderant, 3E).
• Configure system settings to comply with client-specific requirements.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve system errors.
• Review and analyze time entries and expense reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare accurate and timely invoices in accordance with client guidelines and firm policies.
• Submit invoices through various e-billing portals and platforms.
• Monitor invoice status and follow up on any issues or rejections.
• Respond to client inquiries and resolve billing-related issues.
• Communicate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff members.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
• Generate reports on billing data, including key metrics and performance indicators.
• Analyze billing trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and present reports to management.
• Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with client-specific billing guidelines and firm policies.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with e-billing.
