Alignerr seeks a Mathematical Formalization Specialist to translate informal proofs into Lean and related systems, strengthening machine-verifiable mathematics. You will analyze proofs, build formalizations, and collaborate to improve verification pipelines.
The role emphasizes rigorous proof writing across algebra, analysis, topology, and logic, with hands-on experience in Lean, Coq, Isabelle/HOL, or Agda. Remote, hourly contract, flexible schedule.
Qualifications
- MSc or higher in mathematics, logic, or theoretical CS.
- Strong formal proof-writing experience across algebra, analysis, topology or logic.
- Hands-on experience with Lean, Coq, Isabelle/HOL or Agda.
Responsibilities
- Translate informal proofs into Lean and related systems with clarity and correctness.
- Analyze proofs to find gaps, hidden assumptions, and formalizable parts.
- Create formalizations that push current proof assistants to their limits.
- Collaborate to design strategies for improving formal verification pipelines.
- Develop readable proof scripts aligned with best practices and idioms.
- Guide on proof decomposition, lemma selection, and structuring techniques.
- Investigate why automated provers fail and document gaps.
