Job summary

American Family Insurance seeks a leader to direct a liability claims team, investigate and manage property/casualty claims, and settle files in line with policy terms and applicable laws. The role may be field-based or central, with relocation support for eligible candidates and strong emphasis on ethics and teamwork.

The role requires guiding a desk-adjusting team, managing performance, and ensuring adherence to company standards while leveraging industry knowledge to handle complex losses

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
• Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently at a location removed from immediate supervision.
• Solid knowledge of property casualty insurance/claim industry and regulatory environment.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex losses with tact, diplomacy and persuasion.
• Demonstrated thorough understanding of office and field claim handling processes.

Responsibilities

• Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment with clear goals and ongoing development.
• Lead with influence; contribute to division leadership; reinforce mission, values, and policies.
• Oversee decision-making by adjusters; anticipate issues and implement solutions.
• Ensure compliance with Unfair Claims Practices Acts and company guidelines; respond to inquiries and complaints.
