Job summary

Cohere Health is seeking a Lead Engineer to join our remote-first engineering team. You will own end-to-end feature releases and platform enhancements for our growing software platform.

The role emphasizes data-driven design, collaboration with product and design, and a strong ownership mindset. The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in software development, expertise in React/TypeScript and Java, and hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, and data services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, software engineering, or equivalent.
• 8–10+ years in the software development lifecycle.
• Experience building apps with React and TypeScript or similar web framework.
• Fluency in Java.
• Experience designing scalable data services and APIs.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB/Elasticsearch/DataDog/Kafka (at least one).
• Experience deploying software to AWS and using Terraform/CloudFormation.
• Ability to own end-to-end product development and deliver high-quality code.
• Strong collaboration with product and design to ensure great UX in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and data-driven decision making.
• Contribute to feature design, development, testing, and delivery of cloud platform and web apps.
• Support all parts of the platform from database to frontend.
• Adopt new technologies to improve development efficiency.
• Promote testing culture with comprehensive test coverage.
• Ensure healthcare security practices are followed across the team.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a learning environment.
