Job summary

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Principal / Lead Systems Engineer for a remote, contract engagement. You will lead multi-disciplinary engineering projects across mechanical, electrical, hardware, software and manufacturing, with 10–40 hours per week and an hourly rate of $150–$300.

You will translate objectives into measurable requirements, coordinate domain experts, and drive system integration, verification and validation. English proficiency at B2 level or higher is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Principal/Lead Systems Engineer or senior technical leader.
• Led complex multi-discipline engineering projects.
• Strong requirements engineering, interface management and system integration.
• Experience with verification and validation processes.

Responsibilities

• Design multi-discipline engineering projects (mechanical, electrical, hardware, software, manufacturing).
• Translate objectives into requirements, constraints and acceptance criteria.
• Break projects into tasks with inputs, deliverables, dependencies and roles.
• Coordinate contributions from domain experts to meet goals.
• Define technical objectives and evaluation criteria to improve AI systems planning and execution.
