Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking an Observability & Infrastructure Engineer to lead monitoring, telemetry, and platform-as-code initiatives across our multi-region AWS footprint. You will design robust observability pipelines and codify infrastructure using Terraform, AWS CDK, and TypeScript.

The role focuses on disaster recovery, high-throughput data ingestion, log routing and alerting with tools like Vector, Datadog, Splunk, and OpenTelemetry, and will coordinate with incident response to ensure

Qualifications

• Proficiency with AWS CDK and TypeScript for infrastructure provisioning.
• Experience deploying and managing agent/cluster agents.
• Monitoring dashboards, SLOs, and synthetic monitors via Terraform.
• Advanced observability concepts: composite monitors, cardinality management, retention controls.
• Familiarity with OP2/Vector as observability pipelines worker.
• Log routing, enrichment, and redaction across systems.
• Experience with Splunk and GCP Pub/Sub sinks; OpenTelemetry standards.
• CloudWatch metrics/alarms for AWS services such as Edge, ALB, CloudFront, Route 53, and VPC Lattice.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and validate monitoring and telemetry strategies for multi-region architectures.
• Manage and automate Datadog configurations (Monitors, Dashboards, SLOs) and AWS infra using Terraform, AWS CDK, and TypeScript.
• Architect high-throughput telemetry ingestion pipelines using AWS Lambda, S3, Kinesis, and Firehose.
• Implement log routing, enrichment, and redaction with Vector and OpenTelemetry, plus Splunk and Pub/Sub sinks.
• Configure CloudWatch metrics/alarms and integrate Datadog with PagerDuty for alerting.
