Xometry, a leading digital manufacturing marketplace, seeks a Technical Lead to guide engineering and sourcing on complex parts and quotes. You will review drawings, assess feasibility, validate cost estimates, and mentor junior engineers to strengthen technical expertise.

The role is fully remote with flexible hours and cross-border collaboration across US and EU teams, shaping quoting practices, process improvements, and overall project success.

Qualifikationen

• Higher technical education in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with complex parts/components.
• Experience as technical lead or senior engineer guiding others.
• Strong knowledge of machining and fabrication processes (CNC turning and milling, sheet metal, cutting, welding).
• Experience estimating manufacturing costs (materials, machining time, tooling, post-processing).
• Ability to review 3D CAD models and 2D drawings and evaluate solutions.
• English proficiency at B1-B2 level.
• Ability to lead technical discussions with customers and partners.
• Mentoring and prioritization under pressure.

Aufgaben

• Provide technical leadership to engineers in sourcing, cost estimation, and quoting.
• Act as the primary technical expert for complex projects and opportunities.
• Review CAD models and drawings to assess manufacturing feasibility.
• Guide selection of processes, materials, post-processing methods.
• Validate quotations and manufacturing assumptions.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and partners.
• Oversee tagging and categorization of parts by process and material.
• Support prioritization of complex requests and resolve escalations.
• Mentor junior engineers and share manufacturing knowledge.
• Improve technical review practices and cross-team collaboration.
