You will translate complex scientific findings into actionable product priorities, collaborate with diverse teams, and help advance AI-enabled research and development while engaging with external scholarly activities.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant field with strong research background.
• 5+ years of professional experience in speech-language, literacy, academic achievement, or related areas.
• Clinical experience administering or interpreting standardized assessments.
• Strong knowledge of test development, measurement principles, and psychometrics.
• Ability to translate scientific/clinical evidence into strategic recommendations.
• Strong digital fluency and curiosity for AI and emerging tech.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead research plans supporting new product development and portfolio priorities.
• Provide subject-matter and scientific leadership in speech-language pathology, literacy, and early childhood assessment.
• Define product scope and assessment design to ensure scientific validity and customer relevance.
• Lead item development, review, and evaluation using research and best practices.
• Collaborate with psychometricians to review data and findings.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and emerging tech to research and product innovation.
• Oversee assessment materials, digital interfaces, and scoring resources.
• Support product commercialization with scientific and clinical input for training and materials.
• Represent Pearson through conferences, papers, and scholarly activities.
