Job summary

Iris Software Inc. is seeking a Lead Full Stack Python Developer to design, build, test, and support enterprise applications for a large insurance client.

The role is 100% remote, with leadership of backend services (Python) and frontend (React.js or Angular), plus cloud, CI/CD, and AI-assisted tooling. You will collaborate with product, QA, DB admins, and tech services to translate requirements into scalable solutions and guide architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience designing and developing full‑stack applications and web services in enterprise environments.
• Strong Python development skills and experience with React.js or Angular are required, along with practical knowledge of APIs, SQL, and PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with .NET environments is also required.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines, and the ability to troubleshoot production systems and improve deployment reliability.
• Experience with software testing, data quality, system integrations, and technical documentation is important.
• Knowledge of database objects and related tools, including stored procedures, SSRS, and SSIS, is valuable.
• The ideal candidate communicates effectively, collaborates across disciplines, reviews code constructively, and can guide technical decisions.
• Experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or Gemini is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Python services, APIs, web applications, and integrations.
• Deliver frontend features as needed and help ensure a consistent, dependable user experience across connected systems.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud infrastructure with Terraform, and support application deployments in AWS.
• Lead LifePRO application support and collaborate to plan and deliver features, review code, and contribute to architecture decisions.
