Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Chief Engineer to lead Flight Controls and Precision Landing programs in a remote U.S. role. You will own multiple programs, guide certification planning, and mentor engineers while delivering complex systems across the lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has DO-178 certification experience, strong leadership, and a track record of on-time delivery. You will partner with VSLs, SMEs, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into executable plans.

Qualifications

• Extensive technical background in Flight Controls.
• Documented success leading programs to DO-178 certifications.
• Experience with Certification Planning and Execution concepts.
• Proven record of on-time delivery with engineering teams.
• Leadership of multidisciplinary teams across complex programs.
• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 10+ years experience or advanced degree with 7+ years.

Responsibilities

• Interface with customers and executing teams during definition and implementation.
• Establish infrastructure for metrics, risks, and schedule feedback.
• Mentor junior leaders on projects and people.
• Lead and coordinate program-level cost estimates during bid cycles.
• Develop and manage program-level schedules and dependencies.
• Ensure effective change management and scope control.
