Job summary

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield seeks a Lead Data Engineer to provide technical leadership for enterprise data portfolios across Shared Services, Pharmacy, SIU, and Core Functions. You will partner with Data Product Managers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure data solutions that support Finance, HR, Legal, Audit, Compliance, and other domains.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering or related field (or 4 years additional experience).
8 years experience leading data engineering and cross-functional teams to implement scalable ETL/ELT solutions.
Hands-on experience with data modeling, relational databases, and application development.

Responsibilities

Lead the team to design, configure, implement, monitor, and manage Data Integration Framework and best practices.
Develop and maintain data warehouses and data lakes including data access APIs.
Model data warehouse solutions in cloud or on-premise with dimensional modeling and OLAP concepts.
Oversee delivery of data initiatives, support ELT/ETL activities, and connect large data sets from multiple sources.
Enforce best practices for data auditing, scalability, reliability, and performance.
Interpret data, perform statistical analyses, and provide data-driven insights for key projects.
Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
