Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design, build and operate production-grade data platforms. This remote role may be hired only in North Carolina, Arizona or Texas. You will mentor engineers, set standards, and drive end-to-end data pipelines using modern ELT architectures.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, Qlik Replicate and Python-based pipelines, and natively leverages cloud services to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of advanced data engineering, cloud platforms, and leadership.
• Hands-on experience with end-to-end data pipelines.
• Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Qlik Replicate, and Python-based ETL.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and establish best practices.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data pipeline design, build, and operation.
• Develop ingestion patterns using CDC and batch processing.
• Build dbt models and implement testing and CI/CD.
• Govern Snowflake platform with RBAC and security controls.
• Lead cloud components on AWS or Azure.
• Provide technical leadership and code reviews.
