Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and operate production-grade data platforms in a remote-capable role. You will own end-to-end data pipelines, set engineering standards, and mentor junior engineers across projects.

The role requires hands-on experience with modern ELT architectures, Snowflake, dbt, Python, and cloud services (AWS/Azure). You will lead design discussions and ensure secure, scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 6+ years in advanced data engineering and leadership.
• Experience designing and operating Medallion Architecture data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own End-to-End Data Pipeline Ownership: design, build, and operate pipelines.
• Ingestion & Integration: CDC and batch ingestion patterns with Qlik Replicate.
• Transformation, Modeling & Testing: dbt models, automated data quality testing, CI/CD deployments.
• Snowflake Platform Engineering & Governance: RBAC, masking, and security controls.
• Cloud Engineering: build/deploy with AWS or Azure services and CI/CD
• Leadership & Mentorship: lead design discussions and mentor engineers.
