Legence is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Specialist to guide a team of analysts and advance security across cloud, on-prem, and data protection. You will shape architecture, risk strategy, and cross-functional initiatives while mentoring staff and aligning with business goals.

The ideal candidate has deep cloud/security expertise, strong leadership, and hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, and compliance frameworks. This remote role supports US operations with scope across enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5–10+ years of experience in cybersecurity with progression into senior/lead roles.
• Deep expertise in cloud security, network security, and enterprise security architecture.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and encryption technologies.
• Familiarity with risk management, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
• Experience with frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, CIS.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud security architecture and governance across platforms.
• Embed security into cloud-native development and DevOps (DevSecOps).
• Oversee risk management program, perform risk assessments and threat modeling.
• Develop automation frameworks to improve detection, response, and compliance.
• Lead vulnerability management and coordinate penetration testing initiatives.
• Guide governance, compliance initiatives, and security strategy with leadership.
