Job summary

Legence in the United States is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Specialist to advance security across cloud, on-prem, and data systems. You will lead a team of analysts, shape risk strategy, and work with IT and engineering to embed security into DevSecOps practices.

The role emphasizes ITGC audits, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and incident response leadership to reduce risk and meet regulatory requirements. Compensation: $125k-$165k.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–10+ years in cybersecurity with progression to lead roles.
• Deep expertise in cloud/network/enterprise security architecture.
• Experience with SIEM/EDR/IDS-IPS, firewalls, and encryption.
• Proven risk management, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Proficient in scripting for automation; familiarity with NIST/ISO frameworks.
• Strong communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud security architecture across platforms and govern security controls.
• Evolve risk management program with risk assessments and threat modeling.
• Develop automation for detection, response, and compliance.
• Oversee security tooling integration (SIEM, EDR, CSPM) into the security ecosystem.
• Direct incident response, triage, containment, and root cause analysis.
• Manage vulnerability lifecycle and coordinate penetration testing.
• Guide governance, compliance initiatives (NIST, ISO, SOC 2) and strategic roadmaps.
• Mentor junior analysts and align security with business goals.
