Job summary

GoDaddy Inc. is seeking a Lead Senior Site Reliability Engineer to design and scale its Ceph storage platform. You will architect large-scale Ceph clusters, drive upgrades, and guide multi-quarter architectural directions while mentoring other engineers.

You will own capacity planning, performance modeling, and hardware qualification across 80+ production clusters and 300 PB of raw storage, ensuring reliability and efficiency across GoDaddy’s globally distributed infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing, operating, and scaling distributed storage platforms.
• Expert‑level Ceph knowledge including CRUSH, MON/MGR/MDS, RGW, CephFS, RBD.
• Proven capacity planning, durability analysis, performance optimization at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect large-scale Ceph clusters and data placement architecture.
• Lead fleet-wide capacity planning and hardware qualification for 80+ production clusters.
• Own major platform upgrades and migrations (Ceph releases, OpenStack integrations).
• Drive resolution of complex cross‑functional production incidents across storage, networking, and compute.
• Establish automation and reliability practices to improve scalability and reduce toil.
