Vultr is seeking a highly skilled Senior Storage Engineer to drive storage product development, enhancement, and operational excellence. The role focuses on high-performance, resilient storage solutions leveraging Ceph and related technologies.

You will lead cross-team collaboration to define requirements, oversee daily platform health, and deliver automation, documentation, and best practices for enterprise-scale cloud storage. This is a visible role in a fast-growing cloud company.

Qualifications

• Senior-level storage engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with Ceph and storage technologies required.
• Ability to design scalable and reliable storage solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop features for storage products prioritizing reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations to define requirements.
• Oversee day-to-day health of storage platforms including incidents and RCAs.
• Build reference implementations and create training materials.
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and performance testing of storage features.
• Develop and improve automation tools for deployment and ops.
• Create and maintain runbooks and knowledge articles for teams.
• Promote best practices in storage design and operations.
• Monitor industry trends to inform the storage product roadmap.
