Job summary
Canonical is hiring a software architect for LXD and MicroCloud. This home-based role spans EMEA and the Americas, with frequent collaboration across time zones. You will drive architecture, mentor engineers, and develop in Go and C while ensuring security and performance.

Qualifications
- Strong experience in Go and C for distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with storage, networking, and virtualization tech.
- Experience leading teams and delivering in a distributed, remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the LXD and MicroCloud architecture efforts.
- Mentor and guide engineers in career progression.
- Develop in Go and C and review code from peers.
- Ensure security and performance of the product.
- Demonstrate technical leadership across Canonical and its communities.
- Travel for company events twice yearly.
