Job summary

Maximus seeks a Technical Lead Appian Developer to guide design, development, and implementation of complex case management and workflow automation in a federal setting. The role requires leadership of development initiatives, AI-driven capabilities, and strict security compliance.

The position is remote with a requirement for U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Strong experience with Appian, SQL/Oracle, AWS, and Agile practices is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on Appian development experience (Appian 17.x+).
• 3+ years in technical lead or senior developer capacity.
• Experience delivering mission-critical apps in federal or highly regulated environments.
• Experience or strong interest in integrating AI into business processes (AI/ML/LLM).
• Proficient in SQL and relational databases; Oracle database experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Strong Agile software development experience.
• U.S. citizenship required due to federal contract requirements.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of Appian-driven solutions in a federal environment.
• Drive AI-driven capabilities and automation within business processes.
• Lead small-to-medium development teams and ensure on-time delivery.
• Ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST, 508 and records management requirements.
