Job summary

United Way for Greater Austin is seeking a remote Community Resource & Engagement Coordinator to manage the Laredo area resources, build partnerships, and coordinate disaster response efforts. You will work with the Austin-based team, ensuring accurate data and strong community engagement.

You will engage diverse partners, provide outreach, and support organizational missions while maintaining timely data across systems and adhering to disaster response protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a social service–related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in community engagement, nonprofit, disaster response, or library settings.
• Knowledge of community resources and disaster response efforts.
• Experience managing resource databases or referral platforms is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred for the communities served.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Laredo area resource databases are comprehensive, up-to-date, and easy to use.
• Build awareness of 2-1-1 and other United Way programs in the Laredo area.
• Engage community partners and social service providers to foster relationships.
• Provide outreach, education, and represent United Way at local events and meetings.
• Respond to staff resource verification requests and new agency requests.
• Lead disaster resource response for the South Central region in coordination with the Sr. Manager.
• Serve as on-call contact for statewide 2-1-1 disaster resource coordination during duty windows.
• Support seasonal resource and engagement projects; assist other staff as needed.
